The College Store magazine, an official publication of NACS, is the leading trade magazine for higher education retailers.  Published since 1930, The College Store strives to help college store retailers improve their stores and expand their professional skills and expertise.  The College Store aims for the highest level of integrity and objectivity in its editorial coverage.


Publication Frequency

The College Store is published bimonthly in both print and digital formats: January/February, March/April, May/June, July/August, September/October, and November/December. CS Extra, a digital-only supplement to The College Store, is published several times per year.

Our Readers
The majority of The College Store's readers are managers, directors, buyers, or sales staff at college and university stores, including stores that are institutionally owned and operated, contract managed, or privately run, totaling more than 4,000 stores.
Other readers include NACS associate members, who supply educational materials and other merchandise to stores; affiliate members, which include organizations related to higher education and retailing; individual members; and professional members.
The College Store magazine reaches every college or university bookstore in the U.S.
As part of the annual membership fees, NACS member stores are entitled to receive copies based on their service tier, roughly one copy per $100 in dues.  For example, a store paying $625 in service fees qualifies for six copies of each issue.
Other NACS member categories (associate, individual, affiliate, and professional) are entitled to one copy per issue.  In addition, prospective store members and nonmember college stores each receive a complimentary copy of each issue.
For additional copies, annual paid subscriptions are available:
$66 for NACS members
$78 for nonmembers
