CoreSource Adds Five University Presses as Clients
CoreSource, the digital assets and distribution service from Ingram, will handle distribution of titles for New York University Press, Penn State University Press, University Press of Kansas, Ohio University Press, and the University Press of Mississippi.
Wiley Acquires CrossKnowledge
Wiley acquired CrossKnowledge for $175 million. CrossKnowledge, based in France, offers subscription-based digital learning solutions, including managerial and leadership skills, assessment, courses, certification, content, and executive training programs delivered on a cloud-based platform. The transaction is expected to be completed on May 1.
Hopkins to Handle UNO Press Titles
Hopkins Fulfillment Services will begin distributing titles from the University of New Orleans Press on May 1. UNO Press titles are currently distributed by National Book Network.
Lerner to Handle Walter Foster Publishing
Lerner Publisher Services is the exclusive U.S. and Canadian distributor of Walter Foster Publishing spring frontlist titles for schools and public libraries. Lerner will begin distributing Foster’s hardcover custom library-bound backlist titles in June.
LAD Distributing WSJ to Campus Stores
LAD Custom Publishing is distributing The Wall Street Journal subscriptions and The Wall Street Journal point-of-purchase displays for college bookstores.
Random House to Handle Dark Horse Books Titles
Random House Publisher Services will begin selling and distributing all Dark Horse Books worldwide on June 1, 2014. Diamond Book Distributors will continue to distribute Dark Horse titles to the comics specialty market.
Desire2Learn Buys ASN
Canadian educational tech company Desire2Learn purchased the Achievement Standards Network (ASN), an online database of learning standards. Desire2Learn will assume responsibility for operating the ASN public data infrastructure and continue to provide educators with free access to use it.
Macmillan Expands OverDrive Program
Macmillan expanded its pilot program with OverDrive and is offering its e-book catalog to K-12 schools and libraries through the OverDrive platform. Macmillan previously offered 640 e-books to schools in the United States and Canada.
Pearson to Distribute Microsoft Press
On April 1, Pearson Education begins an exclusive sales and distribution service partnership with Microsoft Press. The partnership covers both print and digital products.
