Ingram to Handle Longleaf Fulfillment
Ingram Content Group will manage warehousing, fulfillment, print-on-demand, and e-book content-management solutions for Longleaf Services at the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2014. Longleaf was founded by the University of North Carolina Press in 2006 to provide fulfillment for university presses and nonprofit publishers.
Kensington, PRH Expand Agreement
Kensington Publishing expanded its agreement with Penguin Random House (PRH) Publishers Services to provide sales and distribution services in all physical and digital formats. Kensington has been distributed by Penguin for years and was a distribution-only client for PRH.
IPG/Trafalgar Square Adds Clients
Independent Publishers Group (IPG) will begin distributing regional and niche titles from Museyon Guides on Aug. 1 and children’s titles from Tantan Publishing in April 2015. IPG’s Trafalgar Square Publishing will begin distributing titles from Little Island Books, Berbay Publishing, Ammonite Press, and Fine Feather Press on Jan. 1, 2015.
IPG to Distribute Popular Book Titles
Independent Publishers Group (IPG) has started to distribute backlist titles from the Popular Book Co. and will handle frontlist books beginning April 2015. Popular Book Co. is a Canadian publisher of workbooks and learning materials for preschool and elementary school children. In addition, IPG started distributing titles from Charlie Girl & Co. and Pitchstone Publishing on July 1. It will distribute titles from Dry Climate Studios, Tuva Publishing, Rosarium Publishing, and the Wine Appreciation Guild on Sept. 1, and Racing Post Books on Jan. 1, 2015, through its subsidiary Trafalgar Square Publishing.
Wiley Makes E-Titles Available on GVRL Platform
John Wiley & Sons is making more than 400 of its e-book titles available on the Gale Virtual Reference Library platform. E-books on business and economics, medicine, computer science, and psychology are among the titles that will be available, along with 180 titles from the “For Dummies” series.
Hachette, Ingram Buy Perseus Books Group
Hachette Book Group is buying Perseus Book Group and Ingram Content Group is purchasing the Perseus distribution companies. Perseus will become a new publishing division within Hachette, while Ingram is acquiring Perseus Distribution Services, Publishers Group West, Consortium Book Sales & Distribution, and Legate Publishers Group. Both deals are expected to close by the end of July.
McGraw-Hill, Follett Partner to Deliver K-12 Content
McGraw-Hill Professional partnered with Follett to expand its e-book collection to K-12 school library customers worldwide. McGraw-Hill will make more than 4,500 new and backlist e-books available for lending, including McGraw-Hill Education student test-prep and study aids, through Follett’s Destiny Library Manager.
Ingram Providing POD Solution for Edelweiss
Ingram Content Group Inc. will provide the print-on-demand solution for Edelweiss, the Above the Treeline interactive publisher catalog system. The partnership will provide publishers using the Edelweiss platform with tools to create and print custom catalogs that will be manufactured and distributed by Ingram.
MidPoint Distributing Essential Publishing Titles
Midpoint Trade Books is now distributing titles for Essential Publishing Inc., which specializes in natural and environmental health, wellness, and sustainable living.
