Pearson Mexico Titles Distributed by Bookmasters
Pearson Mexico is distributing its Spanish-language educational books for middle and high school students in the U.S. and Canada through Bookmasters.
 
Wiley Buys Harlan Davidson
John Wiley & Sons purchased Harlan Davidson Inc. (HDI), a family-owned higher education publisher. Founded in 1976, HDI primarily publishes history textbooks for two- and four-year colleges. Wiley acquired the company to strengthen its push into history subchannels, such as world and state histories.

Blackwell’s Selects VitalSource for E-Textbooks
Blackwell’s, the largest academic bookseller in the United Kingdom, selected Ingram’s VitalSource as its e-textbook solution provider. The VitalSource program is expected to be launched for UK students in May.
 
Rowman & Littlefield Buys Fairview Assets
The Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group purchased the assets of Fairview Press, a publisher of health and wellness books. Rowman & Littlefield has distributed Fairview titles in North America since 1996.

Sourcebooks to Distribute Content Through Examville
Sourcebook will distribute its educational content through the Examville online platform. The agreement includes Sourcebook’s test-prep guides and interactive tests.

Pearson Collects Book Industry Guild Honors
Pearson was honored by The Book Industry Guild of New York for nine of its book designs for education titles. The company received firsts for digits in the middle/high school series cover category; myWorld History 2 Books in middle/high school book series; and Biological Anthropology and Criminal Justice Series: Drugs, Society, and Criminal Justice 3e, Police Administration 8e, Justice Administration 7e, Homeland Security in college book cover.
 
In addition, myWorld Social Studies earned a second in the elementary book series category; Interactive Science for New York was third in middle/high school book series; Beyond Words: Cultural Text for Reading and Writing, Third Edition was third in the college book division; Language Central for Science earned a merit award in elementary book series; and Human Development: A Cultural Approach won merit in college book cover.

Consortium Adds Eight New Presses
Consortium Book Sales & Distribution will begin distributing titles from February Books, Global Book Sales, Independent Thinking Press, Torrey House Press, Tyrant Books, Uncivilized Books, and Zuccotti Park Press by June 1. Central Recovery Press titles will be available through Consortium by July 1.
 
Ingram Distributing Open Road Titles
Ingram Publisher Service and Lightning Source were selected by Open Road Integrated Media to distribute print versions of “e-riginal” books and some e-book titles. The titles became available in March.
