The following 4-hour programs are available for 2008-2009 and may be eligible for support via a NACS Foundation program grant:

Creating Your Store's Future   NEW LAST YEAR
In this highly interactive program, we will identify and discuss changes happening in our industry and challenges facing our stores. We will use an "Open Space" methodology to create our agenda, so it will be based on what program participants want to pursue. We will engage in strategic discussions that explore the future of college stores, and work in breakout sessions to develop strategies and solutions for future success. You will leave with the first phase of a customized action plan for your store.

Digital Details: The Fundamentals of Digital Course Materials
This seminar focuses on the essential basics: the catalysts for the change, the types of digital media and devices, building bridges to instrumental stakeholders, and adapting textbook operations. Learn how to get started now, when there is still opportunity for your store in the rapidly expanding digital course materials market.

1-hour Programs
The following 1-hour programs are available for 2008-2009 and may be eligible for support via a NACS Foundation program grant:

Building Bridges at Work: Using Personas to Improve Communication
Effective communication is critical in our fast-paced world in which we constantly short-change dialogue with e-mail, text messages, and sticky notes. In this program, you will learn a simple and effective "type indicator" model to help you better understand yourself and others. By better knowing how you and your colleagues typically behave and interact with the world around you, you can learn to adjust your approach to conversations so that you are more effectively heard and understood.

Give 'em the Pickle!
The foundation of this program is the video "Give 'em the Pickle!", in which restaurateur Bob Farrell shares stories and lessons he's learned from 30 years working in the selling and hospitality industries. This program will help you inspire your team and act as a guide as you and your staff commit to raise the level of service offered to your customers.

Digital Content Update
When (if ever) will digital textbooks take off? When should stores take actions, what actions should they take, and why should they do so? This session will answer these questions and propose others. It will cover recent developments in the digital content space and identify some of the things NACS and others are doing to make sure college stores remain relevant in the emerging marketplace for digital course materials.
