A "Metro-morphosis" created the Metropolitan Hotel Unveiled in 1961 in front of a crowd that included Judy Garland and Noel Coward, the hotel-then called The Summit-was the talk of the town for its ideal midtown location and mid-century modern look. Designed by famed architect Morris Lapidus, the building's curving façade coated in sea foam-colored brick was an extreme (their word, not ours) contrast to the somber hues and straight lines of the surrounding skyscrapers.

Ahhhh, location!
Your home for Xtreme 2008 is again the talk of the town. The original mid-century modernist glory of the hotel has been restored and refined with 21st century amenities. The 19-story hotel offers 755 fully-renovated rooms, a business center, exercise facility, and onsite restaurant and bar. Where better to start your Xtreme '08 experience than the heart of Manhattan at Lexington Avenue and 51st Street.

Reservations
Please call the hotel directly at (212) 752-7000 or (800) 836-6471 before June 25 to make your room reservation. The program room block will be released after that date and reservations will then be accommodated as space allows and at the prevailing room rate.
