New Positions and Promotions
Lance Fensterman has been named show manager for BookExpo America, replacing Chris McCabe, who left the company in February.
Eric T. LaRue is the new manager of the Delaware Tech Wilmington Campus Bookstore, Georgetown, DE. LaRue was previously assistant manager at the store.
Condolences
Hiromi Ueha, acting director, UCI Bookstore, University of California-Irvine, died suddenly after a brief illness. She was 33 years old. Ueha started her career with the store as a student at UC Irvine. She graduated with degrees in political science and Japanese language and literature in 1994. Ueha worked in many areas of the bookstore, holding such positions as course book floor supervisor, assistant course book manager, and course materials department manager.

The winner of NACSCORP's bingo game for a $1,000 American Express Gift Cheque is Doby Gray, owner, Gator Textbooks, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL.
The winners of the NACS Foundation's 5k Fun Run/Walk are: Overall Winners (under 40)—Male: Brian Spangenberg, Prestige Medical Co., 18:04; and
Female: Sue Sonnenberg, University Book Supply, 24:13. Master Winners (over 40)—Male: Gene Wandling, Licensing Resource Group, 22:13; and Female: Mary Anne Garinger, Princeton University Store, 27:00. Walker Winners—Male: David Rudkin, Top of the World, 52:25; and Female: Gale Erskine, Montgomery College Bookstore, 45:34. The overall winners and master winners received plaques, and the walkers received medals for 1st place. Sixty-eight people participated in the 5k event. The two company sponsors were Elsevier-Health Sciences and Russell Athletic. The in-kind sponsors were Brooks, Top of the World, and Cote/Uniflex.
